LinkBuds S supports High-Resolution Audio Wireless thanks to LDAC (Low Latency High-Definition Audio Codec), Sony’s industry-adopted audio coding technology. LDAC transmits approximately three times more data (at the maximum transfer rate of 990 kbps) than conventional Bluetooth® audio allowing you to enjoy High-Resolution audio content in exceptional quality, as close as possible to that of a dedicated wired connection. The LinkBuds S engages you to immerse yourself in the sound around you as if you are at a live concert or with the artist recording in a studio. With 360 Reality Audio, music has never been so immersive. The LinkBuds S allow you to enjoy 360 Reality Audio. With the Sony | 360 Spatial Sound Personalizer app, you will enjoy a sound experience that is optimised for you. The app captures and analyses your ear shape, allowing these earbuds to create your spatial sound field when paired with BRAVIA XR TVs.

NOTE: To unleash LDACs performance, you need to set the function to “Priority on Sound Quality” using the Sony | Headphones Connect app. Also, compatible devices supporting LDAC will be needed.

A new 5mm driver unit featuring a high-compliance diaphragm helps keep LinkBuds S small. Despite its size, it reproduces powerful bass and crystal-clear vocals, bringing out the best in all genres of music. Rich mid-range sound enables “clear” reproduction of voices in music, movies and podcasts. And with enhanced noise cancelling, LinkBuds S provides fewer distractions too. The DSEE (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) restores and upscales all your compressed digital files using Edge-AI (Artificial Intelligence), DSEE Extreme™ in real-time. It restores high-range sound lost in compression by dynamically recognising the instrumentation genres and individual components. For DSEE to function, you need to activate the DSEE Extreme™ from the Sony | Headphones Connect app.

Experience a cleaner and more stable Bluetooth signal with the all-new LinkBuds S. The Bluetooth® signal is relayed simultaneously to both ears for minimum latency and excellent sound quality, even in the presence of additional interferences. Thanks to the powerful Integrated Processor V1, you will enjoy the stable, skip-free, wireless sound. These earbuds are ready for LE Audio, a next-generation Bluetooth audio that enables ultra-low latency – ideal for gaming. For total convenience, the LinkBuds S can be paired with two Bluetooth devices at the same time. So when a call comes in, your LinkBuds S know which “device” is ringing and connect to the right one. You will also be able to quickly switch your earbuds to either of the two devices at the touch of a button.

Integrated Processor V1 improves noise cancelling for distraction-free listening with less power, enhances sound quality and reduces distortion. These earbuds give you the best of both worlds – Sony’s best transparent ambient sound in a truly wireless earbud when you want to interact with your world and high-quality noise cancelling when you need to focus. LinkBuds S automatically switches between Ambient Sound Mode and Noise Cancelling depending on where you are and what you are doing. Even on windy days, you will stay comfortable with wind noise minimised by a mesh structure around the microphone. Adaptive Sound Control is a “smart” function that senses where you are and what you are doing, then adjusts ambient sound settings for the ideal listening experience. Over time, it learns your behaviour, recognises locations you frequently visit, such as your workplace or a favourite café, and tailors sounds to suit the situation.

You can enjoy a working day of 6 hours from your LinkBuds S and store another 14 hours in the case. That means 20 hours (NC ON) and 30 hours (NC OFF) of listening every time you leave the house. In a hurry? Just 5-minute quick charging gives you up to 60 minutes of playtime, and the Sony | Headphones Connect app will notify you when your charging case drops below 30%. With an IPX4 water resistance rating, splashes and sweat won’t stop these LinkBuds S – so you can keep grooving to the music.

LinkBuds S features intuitive touch control settings – for example, tap on the left earbud to change from Noise Cancelling to Ambient Sound and long tap for Quick Attention, or double tap on the right to skip to the next track. LinkBuds S supports Google’s helpful new Fast Pair feature. It lets you locate where you left your earbuds by tone sound or checking their last known location in Google’s Find My Device app on your smartphone. Swift Pair makes it quick and easy to pair your headphones with your Windows 11 or Windows 10 laptop, desktop PC or tablet. Pop-up pairing guidance appears on nearby Windows 11 or Windows 10 devices; when pairing mode is selected. Just take the earbuds out of your ears, and the music stops – a proximity sensor knows when you are wearing one or both earbuds. Pop the earbuds back in, and the music starts again.

NOTE: The Sony | Headphones Connect app lets you assign alternative options, such as Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and music volume control, to each earbud. If neither Noise Cancelling nor Ambient Sound is required, set the function to “OFF” using the Sony | Headphones Connect app. What’s more, you can assign your own functions to each earbud using the Headphones Connect app.

With Precise Voice Pickup Technology that optimally controls microphones on the outside and inside of the earbud and advanced audio signal processing, conversations are ultra-clear, even in noisy environments. Our noise reduction algorithm was developed with AI machine learning using over 500 million voice samples to suppress ambient noise and extract your voice. You can set Speak-to-Chat to automatically pause the music as soon as you speak to someone, so you can hear ambient sound and conduct a conversation – handy if you want to keep your earbuds on or your hands are full. And once your chat is over, your music starts playing again automatically.

LinkBuds S supports the Microsoft Soundscape app. The unique integration enables innovative experiences for 3D audio-based navigation, while sensors embedded in LinkBuds S allow for a heads-up and hands-free experience. LinkBuds S also features intuitive touch control settings. You can assign your functions to each earbud using the Headphones Connect app.

LinkBuds S combines a shape that perfectly matches the human ear with an ergonomic design for a more stable fit. Sony has designed LinkBuds S utilising extensive ear shape data collated since introducing the world’s first in-ear headphones in 1982, as well as evaluation of the sensitivity of various types of ears to ensure an ideal shape that is comfortable for many people. Approximately 4.8 grams in weight, Linkbuds S is the world‘s smallest and lightest noise-cancelling, Hi-Res wireless earbuds. Sony has kept the size down by both developing a compact driver and integrating the Bluetooth® Audio SoC (System on Chip) and high-quality noise cancelling processor in one single chip.
